Our story

A Homer kitchen, family-owned and proudly local.

Fat Olives has been a Homer gathering place for over twenty years. Same wood oven, same focus on what's fresh off the boat, and the same idea: feed people the way you'd feed your friends.

Kitchen philosophy

Fresh ingredients. Honest cooking.

Dough is mixed every morning. Halibut and salmon walk in the door from Homer boats. Sauces, dressings, soups, and desserts are all made from scratch by cooks who care about this town.

We use local cheese where we can, local greens in summer, and what arrives on the floatplane the rest of the year. Nothing fancy — just the right things, done well.

Locals, students, captains' kids — many of our servers have been here for years. They know the menu, the boats, and the best spot to watch the sunset.

Community

Part of Homer, in season and out.

We cater weddings on the bluff, feed crews at the boatyard, host rehearsal dinners on the patio, and keep the lights on through January. When the cruise ships are in we go fast. When it snows we go slow. Either way, we're here.
